Now that you’ve set up your Blueprints and added objects to your Base, it’s time to explore all the ways you can search, view, select, utilize, and activate your object data.
Let's take a closer look at the Objects page.
At left, you'll see the number of objects in your Base. You can page through your objects, and you can search, filter, sort, and change your view.
Easily keyword search across all your objects to find the information you need quickly.
Build a Custom Query
When you need a more refined search, you can build a custom query with up to 7 filters. You'll filter using the form fields you created in your custom Blueprints.
In this example, we’re searching for objects with a title containing the word "moon," that were created after 1850 and before 1900, and for which "oil" appears in the medium description. The query returned 3 results.
You'll have the option to save the query by giving it a name. You can edit these saved queries or delete them when they're no longer helpful.
Filter by Blueprint
You can filter objects by Blueprint. Here we’re filtering by “Over the Moon," which results in 20 objects.
You can filter further by using "Appears In," for locating objects in a specific exhibition or Module.
Sort
You can sort objects by Title, the date they were modified or added, or by the fields you identify as Sortable in a Blueprint. In this example, objects are sorted by Date.
Grid or List View
You can view objects in a Grid or List view. In this list view, we see the fields and information for the Over the Moon exhibition objects. The date column is highlighted and can be sorted by ascending or descending order.
Import Objects via CSV
When you've filtered by a Blueprint, you can import a group of new objects or update information for several objects via CSV.
Download Object Data
When you've filtered by a Blueprint, you can download object data as JSON or as a CSV. You can also download a template for the Blueprint in which to enter object information.
If you haven't filtered by a Blueprint, but have made a selection of objects, you can download object data as JSON.
Select All or Select an Object
With Select All, you can select all the works on a page. You can also select individual works by clicking the check mark in the upper left corner of the object image.
Preview
Once objects are selected, you can Preview them. This creates a slideshow (in the order in which they were selected) that automatically displays image captions (if available).
Update Blueprints
You can add Secondary Blueprints, update the Primary Blueprint, or remove a Blueprint for a single object or a group of objects.
The previous Primary Blueprint will become a Secondary Blueprint. For more on these designations, see Art of the Blueprint.
Add Objects to a Group
When you need to create a group from your selected objects, just give it a name and create it. You'll decide whether the group is Private (just you) or Shared (visible to your Base Members), and you can decide whether or not to allow editing.
Create PDF
Once objects are selected, you can also generate a PDF. Toggle on the fields for the information you want to include, and drag and drop into your preferred order.
You’ll see all the fields that apply to the selected objects, so the list of options may be extensive. Any fields designated with the option Exclude from Publishing in a Blueprint will appear with a red line at left and be unchecked by default.
Then, toggle on whether or not to include images in the PDF and click Generate and Download.
Add to Exhibition or Module
Selected objects can also be added to an exhibition or a Module. Modules are embeddable digital content features that highlight your objects.
In this example, for a selection of 20 objects, there are three Module options available: Slideshow, Objects Viewer, and Timeline.
