To get started with Objects and Order, sign up for a free account and create a Base.
A Base is your dedicated space for organizing object data, media, and content, and for creating and publishing digital exhibitions. You can start a Base for an entire museum collection or a single exhibition project.
Every Base begins at Level 01, which is free. You can add up to 100 object records, create exhibitions, and explore the system.
How to Create a Base
If you don't have an Objects and Order account yet, sign up.
After signing up, you'll take a quick welcome tour.

Close the tour when you're finished. This is the Objects and Order Dashboard, where you'll see the Bases you've created or of which you're a member. You can also view helpful guides or watch the welcome tour again.
If you haven't created a Base yet, or if you want to add an additional Base, start one by clicking the + icon. Every Base begins at Level 01, which is free for up to 100 objects (no credit card required).

Give your Base a name (like Museum of History, Portraiture Exhibition, or Prints Collection) and choose a color. You can update this later if you change your mind. Click Create your Base.

To access your new Base, just click the Base Card.
Objects Page
You’ll begin on the Objects page with some helpful prompts to help you get started.
While you can start adding objects right away, we recommend that you check out Blueprints first.

Blueprints
Blueprints are custom forms that you set up for your objects, exhibitions, and other projects.
You'll begin with the Core Blueprint, in which you can add the data fields you need for every object in your Base. Ask yourself: What information do I want to track for all my objects?
Here, for the sample Core Blueprint, we'll add fields for: Date, Medium, and Accession Number, since all our objects will have this data. (Title is always included by default.)

After setting up your Core Blueprint, you can add Blueprints for object types, exhibitions, projects, and groups. If you like, you can start with a template and then customize and arrange the fields.

The Exhibition template includes fields for tombstone information and object label text.

Adding Objects
To start adding your objects, click Add your first object. You'll provide a Title, select a Primary Blueprint, and click Add Object.

This is an object page. When you add your first object, you'll start by taking a tour.
The data fields you see are generated by the selected Blueprint. Learn more in the Adding Objects guide.
Before adding files for your object, you'll need to verify your email address. Click the button to visit your Account.

Account Page
From your Objects and Order Account page, click on Please Verify Your Email. A verification email will be sent to your email address. Once verified, you'll be able to add files (images, video, audio, etc.) to objects.
On the right, you’ll see your Bases. Clicking the Base will take you to that Base’s Settings page.
From the dropdown menu accessible from the avatar in the upper right hand corner, you can go to the Dashboard, Sign Out, or switch between light and dark mode ("Moonlight" and "Darkside").
Base Settings
In Settings, you can view your Base’s stats, details, and history. You can also download object data or delete your Base.
When you’re ready to add more objects, more Blueprints, and publish Modules, you can upgrade your Base and start a monthly subscription.
