From our current database counts (for 434 U.S. museums and other arts and culture institutions):
• More exhibitions closed than opened
• Most popular opening day: Saturday, June 1st
• Most popular closing day: Sunday, June 2nd
• There were around 1,500 exhibitions on view
Year-over-year trends:
• Significantly fewer exhibitions opened in June 2024 than June 2023
• More exhibitions were on view in June 2023 than June 2024
May 2024
In May, we added our 10,000th exhibition! 🎉

- Most popular opening day: Friday, May 3rd
- Most popular closing day: Sunday, May 5th
- Around 1,550 exhibitions were on view
- Fewer exhibitions opened in May 2024 than May 2023
- More exhibitions were on view in May 2023 than May 2024
April 2024

- About as many exhibitions opened as closed
- Most popular opening day: Saturday, April 27th
- Most popular closing day: Sunday, April 28th
- Around 1,600 exhibitions were on view
- Fewer exhibitions opened in April 2024 than April 2023
- More exhibitions were on view in April 2023 than April 2024
